A good game, I leave my little gameplay. I have missed some checkpoint to avoid having to go through everything again but artistically I liked it a lot.
This is such a gorgeous game! I thoroughly enjoy playing it. I downloaded it thinking it would be a simple shoot 'em up that would entertain me for 5 minutes, but I've been playing for about an hour(can never get passed that stupid otter) and I haven't gotten tired of it yet! It's one of those games that just puts a smile on your face! If the team continue to update the game, I have a little plea of being able to skip the intro cutscene, since it is a bit slow.
In case nobody was aware - it is controller compatible! I could just plug mine in, though I would like the game to inform me when the controller is plugged in.
Really beautiful, the art, style, gameplay. Really enjoyful. Made me remember Cuphead and Chicken Invaders.
Overall, there might be a small problem with the number of hearts or the absence of saving stages. But my main problem was with the second boss since those bombs can be too tricky to go through, especially if two rows present the passage on opposite sides of the screen.
Your game is good both visually and in terms of gameplay. The general mechanics of power up (More life you have > more power you get > Bigger you are and thus susceptible to take damage) is a nice loop.
BUT damn this game is a bit too hard for me. Sure it keeps me engage to try and replay multiple times but I think several times it was unfair.
1. I think there is a lack of hearts in game (No heart after each boss, come on, we just had an hard battle). Plus sometimes hearts are just next to projecticle of enemies, it's unfortunate but it happened several times during my playthrough.
2. Sometimes it seems you just can't dodge the bullets of enemies. Your frog even with one heart isn't just fast enough.
Combined with the lack of heart (and the random behind it), I think this are somes points you should consider to improve.
Except from that your game is really good, Congrats, it could totally be a paying one :D
Yeah that's my only criticism with the game as well, I'd love to have a heart after each boss :) or at least have them be more predictable as to when they drop.
This game is FANTASTIC. Really loved playing it! Took me a handful of tries but I finally cleaned up the river :D Loved everything from the art to the music <3
I'd love to try the game out, it looks super charming and polished! Unfortunately I can't get it to run, it keeps crashing on startup. Disabling antivirus doesn't seem to help.
EDIT: I was able to launch the game through Steam. If anyone else is having the same issue, this might help you. Cute game!
I tried to open the game and it won't let me??? I even restarted and downloaded the game again multiple times?? (btw I'm on windows) does anyone have a solution? very desperate T-T
So far the game is not optimized well so currently you need a powerful computer to run it. The steam version of the game has been updated to be able to run a computer that has at least 12gb of Ram which still takes most of the memory to run it. So currently it is just a very demanding game until it hopefully gets optimized for less powerful systems. Hope this helps.
I really like this game! the artstyle is amazing, the SFXs are juicy and the music is great. I think player bias could be improved and stage 3 tadpole feels a downgrade compared to stage 2, but as I said, overall really good game feel.
When I first saw Tadpole Tales, I thought it would be a mix between Tadpole Treble and Cuphead. Turns out, I wasn't too far off. The adorable, and well drawn, art style definitely works well with the happy water critters theme, and the music was also catchy. While I'm not great at this sort of game, I still had a lot of fun trying it.
I just played a few minutes and I now that this is a masterpiece <333But the fishes trow to much purple things and if u plus the other enemies proyectiles u are gonna probably die. But aside that is very good
Great game! I have been watching your dev logs for a while and it is nice to see a dev from youtube actually complete an enjoyable project. Please keep making some great youtube videos and most of all keep making games.
I love this game! It's so adorable and fun to play. I couldn't beat the boss in my video but it was still fun to keep trying! I think the only thing I recommend is damage indicators on the bosses. It's a little tough to know if I am doing the right thing to beat them until I actually beat them. Other than that though you nailed it! Well done!
it might be because the game is not the most optimized game... since this is our first, we struggled a lot with optimization :( I hope that in our next game we will be able to be better at it, sorry again!

You can skip the intro cutscene, I forget the key but you either have to hold down enter, left click, or escape

This game is an absolute gem. Reminiscent of Cuphead, a really fun and SUPER adorable game. A little hard! Haha

I have Windows 10 (x64bits) and have not been able to start it or run the video game. It goes to the logo splash screen and closes.

It may be a problem with x86 - x64
it might be because the game is not the most optimized game... since this is our first, we struggled a lot with optimization :( I hope that in our next game we will be able to be better at it, sorry again!
